  1. Thank You - Led Zeppelin was chosen by my husband as one of our wedding songs, the words are very apt to our special day. When I hear that song so many powerful and amazing memories come flooding back even though it was over 8 years ago. Music is very important in my life as a lot of songs have different memories and also makes a boring day more uplifted!

  3. I love music. Its my first port of call when I need to be uplifted.
My song is, Michelle My Belle, by The Beatles. My mum named me after the song, and I think it's great. everyone should have a song with their name in the title.

  4. My favourite song is "Don't worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin because the tune is catchy and the lyrics are cheerful. My children and I sing it or hum it regularly because it simply makes us smile. It is an excellent philosophy to follow and has got us quickly through times when the children have had little upsets. I love music because besides making our family sing, dance and have fun, it can also soothe when it is time to rest!

  5. Hi, music is really important in the lives of both me and my husband. Love of the same genre of music brought us together and we try to pass on a wide range of music to our 1 year old to instil the same passion in her.
I walked down the aisle of our wedding to a solo piano version of 'You got the love's by Candi Staton and the words are so beautiful they make me tear up every time I hear it.

  15. Many songs move me in different ways. My favourite song is "Angel" by Vancouver-based singer/songwriter, goddess of music, Sarah McLachlan. It's a beautiful piano ballad with really intense lyrics. It has sentimental meaning to me and makes me cry every time I hear it, but it's also very comforting. Of course, Sarah's voice tops it off!

  18. I'd pick 'In the Summertime' by Thirsty Merc as it was my soundtrack to my year travelling round Australia! The lyrics reflected my laidback lifestyle there & I remember hearing it at least 7 times a day on the local radio station when I was fruit picking/packing in Bundaberg! It brings happy tears to my eyes whenever I hear it.

  30. Music is so important to me. There are so many songs that trigger memories, mostly happy, but a few sad. I can never hear "A Little Less Conversation" by Elvis without being remembered that it was sang to me as a child by my Father. It is probably my earliest memory, but I remember it as clear as if it was yesterday :)

  33. Tomorrow Never Comes by Ronan Keating, one of my favorite songs. I love everything about it, from lyrics until the melody. Every time I listen I think about life in general, that all will die. What would we do if that day would be tomorrow? Loving person would know how much we cherish her or him? We did everything we could to show that?
And finally it has a tip for all of us:
So tell that someone that you love
    Just what you're thinking of
    If tomorrow never comes

  38. About this time 2 years ago I walked around a local abbey with Shake It Out by Florence and the Machine in my earphones crying my eyes out because I'd ended a relationship that was badly timed and draining me emotionally. 2 years on things moved in the right direction we realized how much we wanted to be together and I went to see Florence perform the song with that same man in a very happy place.

It's a Beautiful Day by U2! Music as a whole is absolutely key to my life. The lyrics to a song can mean a lot, especially those that help during anxious and low moments. Incorporate the meaning into what is making you worry and believe in yourself. It's amazing how a song can calm your mind!

  42. Frankie Goes To Hollywood`s "Relax" from 1983 for the rather silly reason that it was the last song played on my "leaving" night out having left a really stressful job to start a less intensive but far more rewarding job that I still enjoy today. Consciously or otherwise music can set the mood for how you feel about, and approach so much in your life that for me it`s absence would leave a gaping hole.

this was the first song me and my boyfriend listened together. I only understood its beauty then.
Not one day goes by without music in my life, all kind of genres (depending on my mood). I grew up with music and I will grow old with it as well.

  49. I think every piece of music I remember brings back good memories and recalls events throughout my life. And, fortunately, if they were ever bad, time has managed to erase that. I think the most significant one from my childhood was around the age of seven when my father put on a very crackly 78rpm and played Elvis Presley's Blue Suede Shoes to show my brother and I how to pick out the drum beat and use it to dance to. What made it all the more remarkable was the fact my father was an accomplished ballroom dancer and I had never before or after seen him dance to anything so "modern" ;-)

  50. R Kelly - Ignition always reminds me of when I was young and Mum told me off for unravelling a tube of Bazuka gel. I assume it was playing in the background at the time! I love music and I find it relaxing and reassuring to listen to my favourite music. Also, upbeat dance music really lifts my mood when I feel down and is a great way to motivate me to go out!

  57. Goldfinger - by Shirley Bassey. I worked at this cafe when I was younger and there was a CD of the bond themes which was often played. It had a large scratch on it and it kept repeating the same song.... It used to drive me up the wall! Whenever I see my mate I used to work with he often starts singing "Goldfinger - screetch!, Goldfinger...' and so on!
It does however remind me of my more carefree days, although I still can't listen to it all the way through!
